A0 sign board printing gives you a large-format 841 × 1189 mm (33.1 × 46.8 inches) rigid panel designed for signage that needs genuine visual presence. At approximately 10.76 sq ft, A0 is twice the area of A1 and large enough for prominent retail advertising, exhibition graphics, event information, construction notices, directional signage and commercial displays.
Printed Today produces A0 boards in four materials: 5 mm Foamex PVC, 3 mm ACP/Dibond aluminium composite, 4 mm Correx and 5 mm KT Soft Board. All four are supplied at the same A0 dimensions, but they behave very differently once installed. Every A0 printed sign board is direct UV printed in-house at Printed Today’s UK facility. The ink cures immediately under ultraviolet light as it reaches the board, giving strong colour, sharp graphics and a durable surface. Both faces of the same sheet can also be printed directly, so double-sided A0 signage does not require two boards to be bonded together.

A0 can be used in either orientation:
- Portrait — 841 mm wide × 1189 mm high.
- Landscape — 1189 mm wide × 841 mm high.
Portrait creates a large poster-style format suited to promotions, event information and exhibition graphics. Landscape works particularly well for directional signage, entrance boards, wide retail displays and branding across larger wall areas.
At almost 1.2 metres on its longest edge, A0 is a substantial rigid panel. It should therefore be measured against the actual installation space rather than judged purely from dimensions shown on a screen.

A0 Foamex board printing is a strong all-round specification where you need a large rigid panel with a smooth, professional print surface.
Foamex is 5 mm rigid expanded PVC. It has a solid, non-porous face rather than a paper skin or fluted structure, allowing UV ink to reproduce large areas of colour and photography cleanly while retaining detail in logos and supporting text.

Correx is 4 mm fluted polypropylene. Its hollow internal ribs keep a large A0 panel very light while the plastic remains waterproof.

A0 soft board printing gives you a large graphic surface while keeping the board exceptionally light.
KT Soft Board uses a foam core with smooth outer liners. At A0, that low weight becomes a significant advantage for exhibitions, conferences and temporary displays that need to be carried, repositioned or removed frequently.

A0 vs A1 Sign Board Printing
A0 provides twice the printable area of A1.
Choose A0 instead of A1 when:

Single-Sided or Double-Sided A0 Printing?
The correct option depends on how the board will be installed.
- Single-sided A0 printing — suitable for walls, windows, hoardings, fencing and displays where the reverse remains hidden.
- Double-sided A0 printing — suitable for suspended, projecting and freestanding signs visible from both directions.

How Should an A0 Sign Board Be Fixed?
At 841 × 1189 mm, fixing is an important part of the product specification.
A0 creates a much larger surface for wind and movement than smaller A-series boards, so exterior panels should be supported securely.
Drill Holes
Choose pre-drilled holes where screws or bolts will hold the panel against a solid structure.
- No drill holes — for frame systems or fixing positions that will be determined during installation.
- Top drill holes — suitable mainly for sheltered hanging applications.
- Four-corner drill holes — preferable for wall-mounted and exterior A0 signage.
Four-point fixing helps hold the board flat and reduces movement around the edges.
Eyelets
Eyelets provide reinforced fixing points for cable ties, rope or hooks.
- Top eyelets — useful for controlled indoor or sheltered suspended signage.
- Four-corner eyelets — preferable when an A0 board is attached to fencing, barriers or temporary structures.
For outdoor A0 Correx in particular, secure four-corner fixing is strongly preferable because the substrate is lightweight and wind-sensitive.
Matt or Gloss Lamination for A0 Signs
The larger printed area makes lighting and reflections more noticeable on A0 than on smaller signs.
- Matt lamination reduces glare across the printed surface and works particularly well for shop windows, exhibitions, menus, maps and detailed information boards.
- Gloss lamination deepens colour saturation and contrast, making large photographs and promotional graphics appear more vivid.
- No lamination remains suitable for many temporary indoor applications where extra surface protection is unnecessary.
On exterior Foamex and Dibond signage, lamination also provides an additional protective layer over the UV print.

A0 artwork should be designed around visibility.
The main headline, offer, arrow or image should communicate before somebody reaches the sign. Secondary information can then support the main message at closer range.
Large photographs deserve particular attention. A small image downloaded from a website can appear acceptable on screen but become visibly soft or pixelated when enlarged across an A0 panel. Wherever possible, use high-resolution source images or vector artwork.
