Every A4 printed sign board is direct UV printed in-house. Ink cures immediately under ultraviolet light as it reaches the surface, producing defined small text, strong colour density and good resistance to everyday handling. Because the same UV process can print both faces of one sheet, double-sided A4 signs retain exactly the same board thickness as single-sided versions.

What Size Is an A4 Sign Board?

A4 is the smallest standard size in this sign board range.

A4 can be used in either orientation:

Foamex is 5 mm rigid expanded PVC with a smooth, matt-white, non-porous face. It is not soft foam-core board; it is a solid self-supporting plastic sheet.

That distinction matters particularly at A4 because this size is commonly used for detailed information. Foamex reproduces:

Printed Today’s 3 mm aluminium composite panel consists of two aluminium skins bonded around a solid polyethylene core. This provides greater rigidity, dimensional stability and long-term weather resistance than temporary board materials.

Single-Sided or Double-Sided A4 Signs?

Choose according to whether anyone will see the reverse face.

• Single-sided A4 printing — appropriate for signs mounted against doors, walls, windows, fences, counters and other surfaces where the reverse is hidden.
• Double-sided A4 printing — suitable for hanging signs, projecting displays, freestanding panels and directional signs visible from two approaches.

Printed Today UV prints both faces directly onto one sheet rather than bonding two panels together. The finished A4 board therefore remains the same thickness and weight.

Fixing an A4 Sign Board

A4 is compact enough to support several mounting methods.

Drill Holes

Choose pre-drilled holes where screws or bolts will hold the sign against a solid surface.

• No drill holes — for adhesive pads, frames or fixing positions that will be decided on site.
• Top drill holes — suitable for small hanging signs.
• Four-corner drill holes — ideal for secure permanent mounting, particularly outdoors.

Eyelets

Eyelets provide reinforced fixing points for hooks, cable ties, rope and similar fittings.

Should an A4 Sign Board Be Laminated?

Lamination is optional.

• Matt lamination reduces glare from windows and overhead lighting. It works particularly well on A4 menus, information boards, safety notices and text-heavy signs.
• Gloss lamination increases colour saturation and contrast and adds another protective surface over the print.
• No lamination is appropriate for many short-term indoor signs that will not be heavily handled or cleaned.

A4 signs are usually inspected closely, so resolution matters. Low-quality logos or web-sized images can look visibly soft once printed even though the finished board itself is relatively small.
