Description
Mehndi Dance Floor Printing
A Mehndi dance floor sets the tone for the entire celebration. It is the surface every guest walks across, every dancer performs on and every photographer shoots down onto — and in most venues it is plain wood, hotel carpet or scuffed vinyl that fights against the décor you have spent months planning. At Printed Today we print full-coverage Mehndi dance floor graphics to your exact measurements, in your colours, with your names, initials or patterns worked into the artwork. The same printed floor covers Sangeet and Haldi events, and can be sized to fit a raised stage as easily as an open dance area. Every floor is printed in the UK on 510gsm matte vinyl, with same day production available for last-minute bookings. If you need a floor for a non-Mehndi event, see our full range of dance floor printing.
Uses and Benefits of Mehndi Floor Stage Printing
A printed Mehndi floor does in one layer what no amount of styling around the edges of a room can achieve. Because the graphic covers the full floor area, the colour palette of your event carries all the way to the centre of the room instead of stopping at the décor on the walls.
For Mehndi and Sangeet celebrations, where the floor is the focus for hours of dancing and performances, this matters more than at almost any other event. Deep greens and golds, marigold yellows, jewel tones and traditional mirrorwork patterns all reproduce cleanly at 720dpi, and the matte surface holds their depth under stage lighting rather than bouncing it back into the camera.
The practical side is just as straightforward. The floor arrives printed and ready, lays flat over the existing venue surface, and lifts away afterwards without marking anything underneath. For event planners turning a venue around between a Haldi in the afternoon and a Sangeet in the evening, that speed is the whole point.
- Full coverage of your dance area, stage or both
- Printed to your exact measurements, not a fixed catalogue size
- Colours matched to your décor, outfits or invitation design
- Matte surface that avoids glare under uplighters and spotlights
- Same day, 24, 48 and 72 hour production for short-notice events
- Removable at the end of the night with no damage to the venue floor
Designs for Mehndi, Sangeet and Haldi Events
The three events call for genuinely different floors, and we print all of them.
Mehndi floors lean into the henna motifs themselves — paisley, mandala centrepieces, trailing vine borders and fine linework. Traditional palettes pair deep green with gold; modern ones run coral, fuchsia and ivory. A centre mandala with the couple’s initials worked into it is the single most requested layout we produce.
Sangeet floors are built for performance and photography. Bolder geometry, higher contrast and stronger colour blocking read better from a distance and from the raised camera angles used for dance sequences. Many clients order a Sangeet floor in the same artwork family as the Mehndi floor so the two nights look related without being identical.
Haldi floors are dominated by yellow and marigold. Because Haldi involves turmeric paste, a printed vinyl floor is also the practical choice — it protects the venue’s own flooring from staining, which is a genuine cost saving on a venue deposit, and it wipes down during the event.
If you are running all three, send us the full brief at once. We can build a coordinated set of floors on a single artwork approval and price them together.
Design & Artwork Options
Send us print-ready artwork and we go straight to production. If you do not have artwork, our free design service covers text and background layouts, and our professional design service builds full custom artwork with unlimited revisions until you approve it.
Most Mehndi floor graphics we print fall into a handful of layouts:
- Centre monogram — initials or names in a medallion at the middle of the floor, with a patterned or plain surround
- Full henna pattern — continuous mehndi linework across the entire floor area
- Bordered — a decorative frame around the edge with clear space or a light pattern in the middle where guests dance
- Floral — marigold, rose and jasmine motifs, either photographic or illustrated
- Geometric — jaali screens, tilework and mirrorwork-inspired repeats
- Name and date — the couple’s names and event date integrated into the design
You can also send your own pattern. If you have a henna design, an invitation card, a decorator’s mood board or a fabric swatch you want matched, send it across and our designers will build the floor around it.
A digital proof is supplied before anything is printed, so you see the floor laid out at full size and approve it before production starts.
Artwork specification: PDF, AI, EPS, JPG or PNG. 300dpi where possible, 25mm bleed on all sides, fonts outlined, CMYK colour. Maximum upload size 64MB, or email the file to us after checkout.
Match Your Mehndi Décor and Colour Theme
Colour matching is the most common reason clients come back to us for the artwork rather than supplying their own. Screens are not reliable — the green you see on your phone is not the green your decorator is hanging, and neither is guaranteed to be the green that prints.
The way around it is to give us a fixed reference. Any of these work:
- A Pantone reference from your decorator or stylist
- A photograph of the fabric, drape or flowers being used
- Your invitation card artwork or PDF
- A physical swatch posted to us ahead of the order
We print in CMYK, so some very saturated colours — particularly bright oranges and deep purples — sit slightly differently to their screen equivalents. Our returns policy allows for a 10–15% colour variance from screen, so where an exact match is critical, ask for a printed sample before committing to the full floor.
Floor Graphics for Stage and Dance Areas
The same printed vinyl works on a raised stage as on a flat dance floor, and most Mehndi events use both.
Stage floors are usually smaller — commonly 8ft × 4ft up to 12ft × 8ft — and sit under the seating where the bride and family are photographed. Because the camera is close and the area is small, fine detail matters more here than anywhere else on the floor.
Dance areas are larger and read from further away, so bolder patterns and stronger colour work better than intricate linework that gets lost underfoot.
Stage risers and fronts can be printed to match. If you want the vertical face of the stage covered as well as the top, measure the height and total run separately and order it as a second piece.
Ordering both together keeps the artwork consistent and usually lands in a cheaper per-square-foot band than two separate small orders.
How to Measure Your Mehndi Floor or Stage
Measure the floor or stage itself, not the room.
- Measure the width and length of the surface to be covered in feet or metres, at the surface itself rather than from a venue floor plan — plans are frequently out by several inches.
- Add 50–100mm to each side if you want the graphic to tuck under the edge of a stage frame or floor trim.
- Check for obstructions — pillars, floor sockets, cable trunking. Tell us where they are and we can build them into the artwork so the pattern still lines up.
- Confirm the venue allows floor coverings. A few hotels restrict adhesives on certain floor types. Worth a phone call before you order.
- Order in one piece where possible. We print up to 3.2m wide as a single panel; anything wider is hot-welded into one continuous sheet, so there is no visible gap in the artwork.
If you are unsure, send us the venue dimensions and we will advise on the size to order.
Sizes and Finishing Options
We print to the size you give us. There is no standard catalogue size to design around.
Common Mehndi orders run from 8ft × 4ft for a stage area up to 16ft × 16ft for a full dance floor, with 10ft × 10ft and 12ft × 12ft the most frequently ordered floor sizes.
- Material: 510gsm PVC vinyl, matte surface
- Print resolution: 720dpi large format
- Maximum single panel width: 3.2m — larger floors are hot-welded into one continuous sheet
- Finishing: straight cut as standard for floor and stage use
- Double-sided printing: available, though rarely needed for floors
Matte is the correct finish for a floor. A gloss surface reflects uplighters and stage lighting straight back into the camera, which washes out both the floor artwork and the people standing on it.

UK-Printed Mehndi Floor Stage Printing
Every Mehndi dance floor we produce is printed in the UK on our own large-format machines, seven days a week from 10am to 7pm. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is shipped in, which is why a floor ordered on a Thursday morning can be under your guests on Friday night.
We print for wedding planners, event decorators and families organising their own celebrations, and we are used to the timelines involved. If you are working to a date that feels too tight, speak to us before you rule it out.
