You choose the flowers, the linen, the lighting and the stationery, and then the venue hands you a dance floor that belongs to somebody else’s wedding. Worn parquet, a hotel carpet in a colour nobody would choose, or a hire floor in plain black and white. It sits at the centre of the room, it appears in a large share of your photographs, and it is almost always the one surface nobody plans for.
A printed wedding dance floor fixes that. We print full-coverage wedding floor graphics to your exact measurements, in your colours, with your names, initials, date or monogram worked into the artwork. It arrives printed and ready, lays over the venue’s existing floor, and lifts away at the end of the night without marking anything underneath.
To be clear about what this is: we print and supply the floor covering itself. This is not dance floor hire. You are not renting a design from a catalogue for one night — the artwork is yours, it is made for your wedding only, and the price is the same whether your reception is in a village hall or a country house.
Personalised Wedding Dance Floor Graphics
Every floor is made to order. There is no fixed range to choose from and no standard size to design around — you give us the dimensions and the design direction, and we build the artwork around them.
Printed on 510gsm PVC vinyl with a matte surface at 720dpi. Matte is the right finish for a wedding floor and it matters more than it sounds. Reception rooms are lit with uplighters, festoon lighting and spotlights, and a gloss floor throws all of it straight back into the camera. That washes out the artwork, blows out the highlights on faces, and ruins the shots taken from the balcony or the top of the stairs. Matte holds colour depth under that lighting and photographs cleanly from above.

Custom Wedding Dance Floor Wraps
A wedding dance floor wrap does something no amount of styling around the edges of a room can do. Chair covers, table settings and floral installations all sit at the perimeter. The floor is the middle, and it is where everyone ends up.
It also does the practical job of hiding a floor you would otherwise have to work around. Most venues will not change their flooring for one wedding, and a hire floor limits you to whatever finishes that supplier stocks. A printed wrap covers whatever is underneath — including the black and white chequerboard that comes as standard with a large share of hire floors — and replaces it with your own design.
For couples using a hire floor, order the wrap to the floor’s assembled dimensions and confirm with the supplier that a covering is permitted. Most allow it; a few do not.
Wedding Floor Vinyl Printed to Your Size
We print whatever you measure. The most commonly ordered reception floors are 12ft × 12ft, 14ft × 14ft and 16ft × 16ft. Marquee and barn weddings often run 10ft × 10ft, and larger venues go to 18ft × 18ft and 20ft × 20ft.
Our maximum single-panel width is 3.2m. Anything wider is hot-welded into one continuous sheet before it ships, so a 16ft floor arrives as one piece with the artwork running unbroken across it. There are no tiles to line up on the day and no seam down the middle of your monogram.
Because wedding floor vinyl is priced per square foot and the rate falls as the area increases, a larger floor costs proportionally less than a small one. Irregular shapes are not a problem either — if your floor is L-shaped, wraps around a pillar, or needs a cut-out for a floor socket, send the measurements and we will design around them.
Add Names, Initials, Dates and Monograms
Personalisation is the reason most couples order a printed floor rather than hiring one, and the centre of the floor is where it goes.
- Monogram — your two initials, interlocked or side by side, in a medallion at the centre. The most requested wedding floor layout we print.
- Names — first names, in script or a clean serif, with or without an ampersand
- Wedding date — below the names or the monogram, in numerals or written out
- Crest or emblem — a custom illustrated crest, wreath or laurel surround
- Hashtag — your wedding hashtag worked into the border or the centre
- Quote or phrase — a line from your vows, a song lyric or a short phrase
A note on scale that saves a lot of disappointment: a monogram sized to look right on a screen is usually too small on the floor itself. We generally recommend the centre element occupies around a third of the floor width, so it still reads clearly when forty people are standing on it. Our designers will size it for you and show it on the proof before anything prints.
If you have your wedding floor monogram already — from your invitations, your stationer or your designer — send the file across and we will print that rather than building a new one. Consistency across your stationery, signage and floor is worth more than a floor design that stands on its own.
Wedding Dance Floor Designs for Different Themes
The design needs to sit with the rest of the day rather than compete with it. These are the directions that work most reliably:
- Classic and formal — ivory or white base, a central monogram, a simple border. Understated and the safest choice for a black-tie or church wedding.
- Marble effect — white and grey Carrara, or black and gold veining. Photographs beautifully and works in almost any venue.
- Floral — peonies, roses, eucalyptus or wildflowers, either as a full pattern or a border framing a clear centre. Match it to your actual flowers where you can.
- Botanical and greenery — foliage on white or cream. Suits barn, garden and marquee receptions.
- Art deco — geometric linework in black, gold or navy. Strong choice for a period venue or a 1920s theme.
- Dark and dramatic — deep navy, forest green, black or burgundy with metallic detailing. Works well for winter and evening receptions.
- Rustic — wood grain, kraft tones, hand-lettered names. Suits barns and outdoor venues.
- Night sky — stars, constellations or a star map of your wedding date.
One practical point on all of them: fine detail disappears once people are standing on the floor. Bolder shapes, clear contrast and a strong centre survive a crowded floor far better than delicate linework across the whole surface.
Custom Colours, Patterns and Bespoke Artwork
Colour matching is where most couples want help, and screens are not reliable references. The blush on your phone is not the blush your florist is ordering, and neither is guaranteed to be the blush that prints.
Give us a fixed reference instead. Any of these work:
- A Pantone reference from your stationer, stylist or planner
- Your invitation or save-the-date artwork
- A photograph of the fabric, ribbon or flowers being used
- A physical swatch posted to us ahead of the order
We print in CMYK, so heavily saturated colours — particularly bright corals, deep purples and vivid teals — can sit slightly differently to their on-screen appearance. Our returns policy allows for a 10–15% variance from screen, which is standard for print. Where an exact match matters, ask for a printed sample before we produce the full floor. It costs very little next to the floor itself and removes the guesswork.
How to Measure Your Wedding Dance Floor
Measure the floor, not the room.
- Measure the actual dance floor surface in feet or metres, at the floor itself. Venue plans and brochures are frequently out by several inches.
- If you are using a hire floor, get the assembled dimensions from the supplier rather than the panel count, and confirm they permit a covering.
- Add 50–100mm on each side if the graphic needs to tuck under a floor frame or edging trim.
- Note obstructions — pillars, floor sockets, cable runs. Tell us where they are and we will build the artwork around them so the pattern still aligns.
- Check the venue permits floor coverings. Some listed buildings and hotels restrict adhesives on certain floor types. One phone call before you order.
- Check the surface. Printed vinyl sits best on smooth, flat, dry floors. Deep-pile carpet and heavily textured stone are not suitable.

If the venue’s floor is the problem — scuffed parquet, patterned carpet, a chequerboard hire floor — you want the full printed floor. Artwork and Design Support
Most couples do not arrive with print-ready artwork, and that is entirely normal. Our free design service covers text and background layouts, and our professional design service builds full custom artwork with unlimited revisions until you approve it.
If you do have artwork — from your stationer, your planner or your own designer — supply it to this specification:
- Formats: PDF, AI, EPS, JPG or PNG
- Resolution: 300dpi where possible
- Bleed: 25mm on all sides
- Colour: CMYK
- Fonts: outlined or converted to curves
- Maximum upload: 64MB, or email the file after checkout
Every order gets a digital proof before printing, showing the full floor laid out at size with your names, monogram and pattern in position. Nothing goes to print until you have approved it.
On timing: start the artwork earlier than you think you need to. Proofs go back and forth, colours get reconsidered, and the monogram usually gets resized at least once. A fortnight before the wedding is comfortable. If you are closer than that, our 24 hour and same day production exists precisely for this — call us rather than assuming it cannot be done.

Artwork and payment must both be finalised before 17:00 for your chosen production date to hold. All deliveries are tracked and you will receive a tracking number once the order leaves us.
Weddings are overwhelmingly on Saturdays, so plan the delivery backwards from the setup day rather than the wedding day. On standard turnaround, order by the Wednesday of the week before. Saturday delivery is available if the venue only opens to you on the morning itself, though delivering to your own address earlier in the week is safer — venues lose parcels.
Large floors ship folded as standard. Select the unfolded packing option if fold lines would show through a pale or plain design.

Every wedding floor is printed in the UK on our own large-format machines, seven days a week from 10am to 7pm. Nothing is outsourced and nothing is shipped in, which is why a floor ordered on a Thursday morning can be at your venue on Friday.
